Round II

About the game

Plataform: PC

Round II is a 2D platformer for PC set in a remote region of Brazil where humans and dinosaurs live together. When aliens invade and destroy one of the villages, the rage of its inhabitants gives birth to Dino, a powerful being created to seek revenge.

 

 

 

 

 

Gameplay

Classic action-platformer gameplay with jumping, combat and enemy-filled stages. Players progress through levels defeating enemies and overcoming platforming challenges as difficulty increases over time.

My role on the project

Game Designer · Pixel Artist)

  • Game Design: Conceived and documented the core rules, mechanics and features of the game.
    Level Design: Created levels, challenges and progression between stages, adjusting enemy placement and obstacles.
    Pixel Art: Contributed character and environment sprites to support the dinosaur and alien theme.

     

Challenges and Solutions


Challenge: Balance stage and enemy difficulty
What I did: Analyzed levels in more detail, redesigned stages and rearranged enemies so tougher obstacles only appear after players have learned the basic mechanics and overcome easier challenges.


Challenge: Balance level difficulty through iteration
What I did: Faced with levels that were either too hard or spiky in difficulty, we redesigned the stages and rearranged enemies after several rounds of playtesting.
