About the game:
Platform: PC
Do Not Disturb is a 2D psychological horror game set in Manaus, inspired by Amazonian myths and urban legends. You follow Lara as she investigates strange events in her apartment building and the surrounding city, slowly uncovering supernatural threats tied to local folklore.

Gameplay
Exploration-focused gameplay with light stealth, chase sequences and environmental puzzles. Players move through apartments, corridors and city spaces, collecting clues, solving small logic and observation puzzles, while managing tension during scripted scares and encounters with supernatural entities.

Game Design: Defined the core loop, player verbs (explore, observe, hide, run), interactions with objects and the structure of each chapter (intro and Chapter 1 in the demo).

Narrative Design: Wrote dialogues, events and in-game texts, weaving Amazonian myths and local elements into a grounded psychological horror story.

Level Design: Designed layouts for apartments, corridors and key scenes, placing events, scares and puzzles to control pacing and tension.

User Interface: Created flows and mockups for menus, in-game prompts, interactions and inventory/notes screens.

User Experience: Focused on clarity of objectives and interactions, using subtle guidance, diegetic hints and minimal UI to keep immersion.
Challenges and Solutions
Challenge: Build tension and fear without combat
What I did: Structured encounters around atmosphere, sound, lighting and chase timing, using limited mechanics (run, hide, observe) to keep players vulnerable but in control.
Challenge: Keep puzzles readable without breaking immersion
What I did: Designed puzzles based on environment clues and everyday objects, using short hints and visual cues instead of long tutorial texts.
Challenge: representing the myths of the Amazon in an innovative way
What I did: Blended folklore with a modern urban setting, using myths as thematic and symbolic elements in events, enemies and locations instead of simple jump-scare monsters.
